![]() Hope this helps!įull of gleeful gore and carnage, infectiously silly jokes, and an overall vulgar, irreverent attitude, this wily, invigorating DCEU movie also offers surprisingly strong teamwork and lots of heart. Lots of blasphemous language (non god specific) for most family’s I’d “recommend” 15+ but realistically 13+. Language isn’t a problem in my house but I know that some take offence, if you are a devote Christian, Muslim, Jew, Hindu, Sikh and so on maybe sit this one out. The film is very diverse with the films pretty much main characters (Blacksport, Harley and rat catcher) being either strong women, POC or both! The film isn’t overly sexual and limits nudity to brief scenes with usually only a few frames. My kids (14 & 17) both enjoyed this movie and asked for the DVD for their birthdays. Some kids (12 and under) could find this terrifying however most kids are exposed to similar media (intentionally or not) around this age and I will admit when I was young I watched a couple horror movies like this (Nightmare on Elm Street). Blood and gore are prominent in the opening and finishing scenes and are sprinkled (delightfully) throughout. In the country I was living in when the film released the age rating was PG13 which I do think is a little generous. I wouldn’t say this is a good fit for any kid under 13 and even then it seems a bit iffy. The movie (in my opinion) is a very entertaining action packed thrill-ride with tons of cool fight scenes and funny dialogue for most of the family. Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, and many more familiar faces co-star. ![]() Main characters smoke and drink, and a character is seen shooting heroin. There's some sex-related dialogue and sexual gestures. ![]() Nudity is mostly in the background but includes glimpses of breasts, chests, and a penis. Characters have comically energetic (but not explicit) sex, wrecking the room and crashing objects to the floor. Language is also very strong, with uses of "f-k," "s-t," "t-ts," "p-y," and much more. ![]() This movie is notably more graphic than the 2016 film: Expect intense blood and gore (bodies are slashed, blown apart, etc.), lots of death (including important characters), heavy weaponry, brutal fighting, torture, crashes/explosions, and more, all with an over-the-top, quasi-humorous, comic book style. It's vulgar, extremely gory, and irreverent, but it's also exhilarating and it has a lot of heart, as well as clear themes of teamwork. Parents need to know that The Suicide Squad is a reboot of/follow-up to the 2016 misfire Suicide Squad, as well as a follow-up to the 2020 Harley Quinn movie Birds of Prey, all of which are part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Bird killed with rubber ball cage full of birds set on fire (sound of birds shrieking).ĭid you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Violence & Scariness in your kid's entertainment guide. Rampaging giant monster, with massive destruction. Enslaved people are shown in cages, being experimented on in a lab (bodies sliced in half, face torn off, etc.). Character kills tons of guards with a javelin. One character strangles another with her legs. Fighting, with brutal punching, slamming, hitting with hard objects, choking. Heads and bodies get ripped in half or blown apart, with huge blood and gore spatters, puddles of blood. Characters are shot, stabbed, sliced to pieces (heads, arms cut off). Lots of people die, including important characters. Many, many guns, including enormous super-rifles. Extremely graphic, over-the-top comic book-style violence, with blood and gore, death, explosions, brutal killings, etc.
